Maine Elopements and Weddings Made Easy

Adventurous wedding locations in Maine

Adventurous elopements and intimate weddings will now be easier than ever to have in Maine and New England. You may already know but our team expanded last year as Jess took off to start a new adventure in Maine! We've been working on getting the 'Cause We Can Events brand out to the newly engaged couples on the east coast. If you ever moved your business or expanded to a new location, you may already know that it takes time to build relationships with new vendors, venues and couples alike.

Maine Elopement Collective

You know we have done elopements for years on the west coast with great success. Remember the one with Darlene and David in Beverly Hills? Similarly, we this one in Laguna Beach, CA.! We are excited to announce that we are expanding these efforts to the East Coast with Maine Elopement Collective. All in all, it's an adventurous experience for those who want an elopement or intimate wedding.

Maine Wedding Vendors Coming Together

We have connected with Maine wedding photographer Katelyn Mallett Photography. In addition, we are working with Of the Fields Floral Design. Together we will create special package we are calling the Maine Elopement Collective. When you meet the right team of vendors, it makes for such an easy and fun experience for all. Maine Elopement Collective will also be teaming up with various officiants to fit all types of ceremonies.

Maine Elopement Collective will focus on the "choose your own adventure" motto. Our hope is to host elopements in Acadia to intimate dinners at locations such as Huttopia in Sanford to Terramor Glamping in Bar Harbor and beyond. Our efforts will not only be limited to elopements but to intimate weddings and of course, larger weddings that have a focus on creating an experience over the tradition.

Best Boho Wedding Inspiration

It's no secret that boho weddings are our speciality. We've been lucky to plan these laid-back festival-style weddings all over the world and we wanted to give you a round up of some of our favorites. Today, we're sharing our Best Boho Wedding Inspiration with you and we hope you enjoy!

Camp wedding at under canvas moab

I'm sure you've seen these incredible photos of WeddingChella float around the internet by now. This 4-day wedding festival took place at Under Canvas Moab and was #weddinggoals for generations of brides and grooms to come! With live bands, all-you-can-eat snack bars and a DIY beer tap wall this boho wedding was the ultimate dream. See the more photos here and on Green Wedding Shoes. Photos by Laura Goldenberger

Long table with green and amber glasses and modern minimalist florals

This wedding took place at Rimrock Ranch in Joshua Tree, CA. While the venue naturally has an eclectic boho vibe to it, the couple wanted to modernize it a bit and so we did! With florals that were more like live art and a food service that resembled a show, guests were in for a treat at this modern boho wedding. See the full blog post here! Photos by Olivia and Dan

Edgy Boho Wedding

A little bit of pretty mixed with a little bit of badass, I bring you the best edgy boho wedding! We're obsessed with this alternative wedding that took place at Matteis Tavern in Los Olivos, CA. The couple want their reception to feel less formal and more like a big party. As their wedding planners, we were up for the challenge and decided to sprinkle a mix of long tables as well as tall cocktail tables. Guests weren't assigned seats which made for a really fun party-feel reception! Photos by Pretty Branch.

Brace yourself, this is a dream wedding! This festival-style wedding weekend took place at another Under Canvas property. This time we were in the Great Smoky Mountains. Ooh la la did this group have a good time! With a live band under the stars and unlimited food and drinks, guests will talk about this wedding for years to come. Photos by Lauren Mihae. Joshua Tree National Park Boho Elopement

Today, you're in for a treat with this boho Joshua Tree desert elopement! Joshua Tree is one of my all-time favorite U.S Parks but maybe it's because my husband and I got married in the area. However, I also think the Dr.Seuss-like Yucca trees are just so unique. Lucky for us, our adventurous couples love this National Park just as much as we do and we get to go back often for elopements and ceremonies!

Getting Ready

Amber and Brad rented this cute AirBnB in Joshua Tree just about a 20 minute drive to the Park. They got ready for their desert elopement in separate rooms while their families set up the reception table and a little cocktail area for later. Amber had her hair and makeup done by Jay-Lee of Superstition Makeup whom she met on Reddit which I thought was pretty cool!

The Ceremony

Part of our job as Wedding Planners is to scout a great location for the ceremony. When the ceremony is in a National Park, we need to go there a little earlier and set up. With the help of the officiant, Matt, we found the perfect little intimate spot shielded from the desert wind. We know a thing or to about prepping for an elopement. Check out our favorite elopement must-have products on Amazon!

The details

Even though this wedding only had 10 people, the details were really cute and represented the couple well. For example, their vow book was a vintage Marvel comic book, something both the bride and groom really enjoy. After the ceremony, we popped champagne and guests got to celebrate with the newlyweds before they zoomed away for photos.

The Reception

While the bride and groom ran away into the sunset for gorgeous desert photos, the guests headed back to the AirBnB for cocktails & appetizers. When the bride and groom joined them, everyone sat down for an intimate dinner prepared by a local Chef. This is the point where we sneak away and let the newlyweds and their families enjoy this time together. We're happy to report that Amber and Brad are living happily every after!

Modern Farmhouse Nashville Wedding Venue: 14Tenn

Welcome to 14Tenn, a super rad modern warehouse-style wedding venue nestled in the heart of Nashville. I initially found this non-traditional wedding venue on Instagram and asked my friend and talented wedding photographer, Mallory if she would join me on a site tour! 14Tenn has the most incredible high ceilings and a TON of natural light that will make any wedding photographer's mouth drop. Ready to take a tour? Let's go!

14tenn, a non-traditional warehouse wedding venue in Nashville

The venue is one large open space with an attached wrap-around patio that can open up for cocktail hour. When you first walk through the doors to the building your eyes will immediately want to look up at the tall ceilings, bright skylights and beautiful chandelier. You know what else is cool? When you rent this wedding venue, you get it for 24 hours!

Getting Ready Room

I was excited to find out that this wedding venue had a getting ready room! You can either come to your venue ready or you can have your crew meet you here for hair and makeup. Bring so champagne to get the day started right!

Ceremony Spaces

Most ceremonies are held right in front of the white barn doors but I can also picture a more intimate ceremony taking place outside on the patio. 14Tenn also includes these modern metal chairs and beautiful long wood tables for any event booked.

Cocktail Hour

This wedding venue is full of great surprises! When we walked around the cocktail area, the venue manager, Kaitlynn, informed us that they include an actual bar in all of their wedding and event packages. Not only that but this wedding venue is BYOB-friendly. BONUS! Typically, during cocktail hour you would open the large garage doors so guests can mingle both inside and outside. I would also encourage couples to rent some really cute furniture for the patio!

Dinner and Dancing

No party is complete without some good food and good music! While guests are enjoy cocktail hour and you two newlyweds are doing some romantic photos around the neighborhood, our team jumps in to help move the reception tables into place. You can have them set up as family-style which would be long rows of 4-5 tables or make it into individual tables scattered around the room. Don't forget to leave an opening for the dance floor! Oh and if you want a band, there's lot's of room for that too as long as we rent a stage and proper lighting and sound equipment.

While this might not be terribly exciting for couples, it makes wedding vendors giddy with joy! Having a kitchen on-site at a wedding venue is a DREAM. Add to that unlimited parking and this wedding planner is in wedding venue heaven! Show this to your caterer and I promise it will put a smile on their face.

A Sweet and Simple Mid-Coast Maine Wedding

Kim and Jasper hosted a sweet summer Mid-Coast Maine wedding at The Squire Tarbox Inn, (you can see more about the venue on this blog post HERE) in June. If you know anything about early summer in Maine, you know it could be a really nice day or you could easily be met with rain. Luck would have it, we had the most beautiful wedding day!

With many options at the venue to choose from, the couple decided the back lawn overlooking the pond would be the best fit for their ceremony. Guests crowded around for a unique wedding ceremony that even included making of salsa. Yes, you heard that right! Kim & Jasper love to cook together and felt that it represented who they were as a couple.

A simple Maine wedding in the summer at the Squire Tarbox Inn.

If you were to ask me what is the most important part of a wedding, it's quite possible I will respond with "food." Kim & Jasper felt the same way and reached out to one of their favorite Maine restaurants, The Thistle Inn, to cater their wedding. Dick & Anya, who own and run The Thistle Inn, have an amazing team and a menu to match. Guests were served delicious cocktails along with a tapas style menu. The menu included a raw bar of local oysters, a variety of salads, skewers and of course, blueberry cake. I'm not sure a Maine wedding wouldn't be complete without blueberries in the mix (or oysters).

What I loved most about this Mid-Coast Maine wedding was the simplicity. The couple decided to focus on the guest experience and less on the decor. Their friends put together pretty bud vases to scatter throughout the barn. The Squire Tarbox Inn has done such a great job with details throughout the Inn that less is really more at this property. A couple of lawn games & some music is all you need to set the mood!
