We had the opportunity to experience ULUM first hand so, grab a cup of coffee and let us show you inside this desert oasis.
Where is Ulum located?
The second we set foot at ULUM, our jaws dropped. Listen, we are big fans of glamping and have always enjoyed our stays at Under Canvas but ULUM has set the bar high. If you’ve never been, Moab, situated in southeastern Utah, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Its diverse and awe-inspiring landscapes, including towering red rock formations, mesmerizing arches, and scenic canyons, make it a dream destination for adventure seekers. ULUM’s property faces one of these famous rock formations: Looking Glass.
The resort is only about 30 minutes from downtown Moab where you can spend the day exploring local shops, hopping in an adventure Jeep or tasting the local eats. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if you wanted to stay at ULUM the entire time.
A luxury glamping wedding venue
What sets ULUM Moab apart from other glamping venues is its commitment to creating a truly luxurious experience for you and your guests. The sleeping accommodations are suite tents that have way more than just a cozy bed. In fact, inside every tent are heating and cooling features, Aēsop bath amenities, upscale furnishings and your very own bathroom with rain shower.
But it doesn’t stop there. No luxury event is complete without tantalizing cuisine, and ULUM Moab understands this perfectly. Their team of culinary experts crafts delectable menus that blend local flavors with global inspiration. We highly recommend you try the Thelma and Louise coffee beverage while you’re there.
Hosting an event at ULUM Moab
I bet you’re wondering where exactly can events or wedding be hosted at ULUM? Allow us to show you what Mint Collective put together for us while we were there. While we would probably recommend keeping your events to 100 guests or less, with the right event team there are ways to create additional event spaces on the property.
The Outdoor Patio & Yoga Platform
The outdoor patio and yoga platform are two great spaces where you can host an intimate ceremony or even a dinner with spectacular views. When we were hosted there, Mint Collective and ULUM brought in event Chef and restaurateur, Chef Shon Foster and his team who put together incredible meals for us all weekend.
With fire pits and cozy chairs placed around the outdoor patio area, guests will be able to watch the sunset and enjoy smore’s while staying warm after dinner. We enjoyed live music during cocktail hour and would highly recommend adding this to any welcome party or dinner hosted at ULUM.
Planner tip: With the unique layout of the outdoor patio, we love the idea of having a long dining table for 50 guests down the entrance walkway or having a more casual-style seating arrangement with fireside lounges, bistro tables and lot’s of grazing stations.
The horse corral
If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous check out the horse corrals. We experienced a dinner here and it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. While there is no power or water available at this location, it’s something planners like ourselves can easily bring in.
There was a surprise element at this location that truly made us all go wild. A secret speakeasy-type bar inside a cave! What was once the sleeping quarters for cowboys is now a really neat place for wedding couples or corporate clients to have a full service bar for their guests.
Event and wedding activities at ULUM Moab
During our stay, we were able to experience some of their on-site activities as well as delicious meals. From sunrise yoga to late night stargazing, it was an experience that a lot of wedding guests or corporate clients will love. Don’t forget to take a dip in the pools after a long day out in the sun. Each pool has a slightly different temperature making it enjoyable for everyone.
The ULUM team is also incredible helpful when it comes to assisting with offsite activities. Whether you’re looking to have someone come in to lead a guided hike or perhaps set up a tour of Canyonlands, they have great connections with local tourism companies in the area.
All in all, our own experience at ULUM Moab was absolutely incredible. Not only would hosting a glamping wedding or unique corporate event here be so much fun, but even spending a few nights here on vacation is highly recommended. We want to give a huge shoutout to all the vendors who were part of our recent trip to ULUM and put together this fun luxury adventure for us to enjoy.
