Welcome to beautiful Sedona, Arizona! Lorrie and Kyle knew this town has great energetic vibes and we had to find a way for them to get married here. With a smaller guest count of around 50 guests, we were able to find a hidden gem called Creekside Canyon (a former camp) that was perfect for their wedding ceremony and reception.
Not only were Lorrie and Kyle an absolute blast to work with (and I truly wish they lived closer so we could be friends) but they were so open to me creating a fun earthy, boho modern design for them. Let’s take a look at their wedding day and details, shall we?
Getting ready + first look
Our couple got ready at separate Airbnb’s around Sedona. It’s always a fun way to spend a little more time with your friends while getting ready. Planner Tip: let them treat you like royalty and bring you food and drinks!
After slipping into their fabulous wedding outfits, we got them together for their First Look. The perk of doing a First Look is that you can get a lot of photos done before the ceremony and spend more of your wedding time celebrating with your friends and family.
Ceremony with a view of the rocks
When you think about Sedona do you immediately think about the desert and red rocks? I mean I did but I was shocked when I actually went there and saw that there are pine trees and beautiful grassy valleys.
Let’s talk about these ceremony details. We wanted to make sure we made the mountains the main backdrop and didn’t hide it with an arch. We chose a nice copper peak-shaped arch from La Pinata Rentals that was just perfect!
Modern boho wedding party
Take a look at how amazing the wedding party looked. Very much into the all-black bridesmaids dresses paired with the neutral boho decor. It add a little bit of elegance and luxury which I am here for.
The guys looked great in their dark grey suits and soft greyish brown ties. Everyone got a boutonniere to match the rest of the florals and it tied everything in nicely.
The reception details
I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t my favorite part. I mean, we spent a lot of time working on the little details and it’s so fun to see it all come together. Watching the guests’ reactions as they saw the space for the first time was priceless.
We went with an earthy color palette to complement the natural red rocks that surround Sedona. Since we were in a valley, we didn’t have to worry too much about the wind so we placed delicate name cards on each plate that had a piece of dried bunny tail. One of my favorite calligraphers and stationer, White Ink Calligraphy even created the amazing fabric seating chart for us!
To fill in the space a bit more, we added some boho lounge furniture with rugs and fun cocktail tables for guests to use while dancing. Now, not only was the decor amazing but the food was mouth-watering! We brought in on of our favorite caterers, Rambler Events, all the way from Nashville so they could create a farm-to-table dinner experience for everyone.
Party at Sunset
While the curfew at Creekside is on the earlier side, it didn’t keep people from dancing, sipping cocktails and enjoying the beauty that Sedona has to offer. Our DJ was awesome and had brought multiple set ups so he could easily transition the music from the ceremony to the reception. Highly recommend requesting this from your DJ!
Lorrie and Kyle are some of the kindest people we’ve had the pleasure of working with and would relive this day over and over again if we could! If you’re considering a Sedona (or beyond) wedding, schedule a consult call with us here. We’d love to hear from you!
