After learning about this cool new venue in Chattanooga, Common House, I (Gabby) decided to schedule a visit! I met up with Summer from Collection Images to bring you along on a virtual tour. Seriously, if you are thinking about a Tennessee wedding, you’re going to want to take a look at this space. I already have this location in mind for a few of our local couples!
Common House Chattanooga officially opened in 2021 as a gathering, co-working, and event space. Plus, you can even dine at their delicious onsite restaurant. Fun fact: the building began as a YMCA so there are some impressive industrial features. So, let’s take a virtual tour of what the venue has to offer!
Ruby Hall
The Ruby Hall stands as the main event space at Common House. Whether you are hosting 20 or 300 guests, this open space is so versatile. I love the natural light paired with the historical architecture of the building. What a truly unique experience! High ceilings fitted with elaborate chandeliers overlook this venue space. Who’s ready for a ceremony/reception here?
Pennybacker Room
Now to the Pennybacker Room. If you are looking for something a bit more intimate and romantic, this is the space to be! Create your ceremony moment here in front of the fireplace and dramatic windows. Common House says the Pennybacker Room also is ideal for, “a post-wedding brunch, corporate off-sites, bridal showers, private dining, and cocktail parties”. By day the venue area serves as a comfortable co-working space.
Outdoor Events & Garden
There are outside venue options also! The Garden and patio look out into the city of Chattanooga while you and your guests celebrate under the string lights. This space is ready for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
Bar & Dining
Since Common House has onsite dining and a bar, this is a perk for your wedding! Common House says, “in-house catering, Sommelier-curated wines, full bar services, and a professional waitstaff” is available. This takes the pressure off of sourcing separate vendors for these planning aspects. Once booking your wedding, you can check up to four vendors off of your list! Love the venue’s decor or furniture? They also offer a variety of modern pieces for your event.
Staying at Common House
You can even stay onsite for your wedding in the bridal suite and guests rooms! No traveling to your wedding venue on the day of necessary with the Common House. While you are enjoying your stay, don’t forget to take a swim at the pool! The pool is an Instagram-worthy space that nods to the original YMCA building.
