When our couple told us they wanted a wedding that felt colorful, groovy, and full of retro charm, we knew Nichols Heir in Sevierville was the perfect spot to bring it all to life. Between the lush gardens, the airy glasshouse, and the sprawling lawn, it gave us the ultimate canvas for a weekend of celebration. And let me tell you…this one was next-level cool.

Nichols Heir is already one of our favorite venues because it feels versatile yet cohesive. You can flow from one space to the next (garden to glasshouse to lawn) and it all feels connected. For couples looking for a non-cookie-cutter wedding that still has structure, this is the place.

Nichols Heir Garden Ceremony

Guests were welcomed into the venue’s dreamy garden that overlooks the mountains, where pops of bold tropical florals and funky retro décor set the tone right away. Picture a mix of oranges, pinks, yellows, and blues…like a disco ball exploded into flower form. We added vintage rugs all the way down the aisle to add even more color.

Planner Tip: Garden ceremonies work best with thoughtful sound planning. Outdoor spaces can be tricky for acoustics, so we always recommend microphones for vows and live musicians if you want that extra ambiance.

Colorful Dinner Reception in the Nichols Heir Glasshouse

After “I do,” we moved into the glasshouse for dinner, and wow! What a vibe. With the natural light streaming in, the colorful tropical tablescapes truly came alive. We rented potted plants to add even more greenery to the Glasshouse and it was so worth it. Each place setting featured a vintage style plate paired with more modern vases ad colorful candlesticks. The textures throughout the reception was insane. I think people forget how much of an impact this can make. Check out the disco balls under the glass coffee table!

Planner Tip: The glasshouse is a natural showstopper, so lean into décor that enhances rather than competes with the space. Colorful glassware, lot’s of greenery, and statement florals do the trick without overpowering the clean architecture.

Lawn Dancing and Retro Lounge Spaces

Once dinner wrapped up, guests headed to the lawn where the real party began. We brought in tons of soft seating (cozy lounges, mismatched retro chairs, and low tables) to make it feel like a stylish outdoor living room. And then, of course, the band kicked off and the dance floor filled instantly. Guests were barefoot in the grass, cocktails in hand, singing at the top of their lungs. It was the perfect ending to an epic day.

Planner Tip: If you’re planning lawn dancing, think comfort too. Adding lounge vignettes not only looks amazing in photos but also gives guests a chance to rest between songs while still staying part of the action.

Why We Only Offer Full Weekend Wedding Planning or Design & Management

Pulling together an event like this takes more than just checking boxes on a to-do list, it’s about weaving a cohesive story from start to finish. The reason we only offer Full Weekend Wedding Planning or Design & Management is because we want every detail, from the garden ceremony to the last dance on the lawn, to feel like it belongs together.

When you work with our team, we make sure the guest experience flows naturally, that the design tells your story in every space, and that no one has to stress about the “what ifs.” This Nichols Heir wedding is proof that when you let us run with your vision, we can create something immersive, unique, and a hell of a good party not just for you, but for every guest who gets to experience it.

Planner Tip: The most memorable weddings are the ones that feel like an experience. Whether you’re going for retro vibes, modern elegance, or laid-back festival energy, trust your planner to carry that vision through from start to finish.
