Now that we are closer to the fall season, I have to share this micro-wedding from last year with you. Don’t get me wrong, we love big weddings here at ‘Cause We Can Events, but there is something so special about intimate weddings. If a larger wedding doesn’t sound like your cup of tea but you are afraid of missing out on certain aspects of those events, keep reading. When Gia and Maro approached us with their Under Canvas Smokies wedding, we were incredibly excited. They had a smaller guest count but still wanted a party. So, we made it happen (it was easy with a dream of a group like this)!
Get ready for a beautiful day with lots of fun, a heartfelt group, stunning decor, and RAIN. Don’t worry, we’ll talk more about that. Let’s dive into this rainy micro-wedding at Under Canvas Smoky Mountains filled with love.
The Couple
Adventurous, glamping weddings are our jam, but without the cool couples we work with, we wouldn’t love our jobs as much as we do. Gia and Maro were so lovely to plan with! Our team stepped in a month before the wedding to coordinate the final details and take the last planning steps off of the couple. You can learn more about our Wedding Management Package here. This is a great option for those that want to take care of the bulk of the planning on their own but need some support when it comes to the logistics. Then, of course, our planning team continues to be there with you on the day of your wedding. Gia and Maro were planning this event as a destination wedding, so wedding management can also be super helpful for couples whose wedding location is not local to them.
Their style was romantic, modern, and boho. I think their outfits matched this aesthetic perfectly! The details like the hair pieces and printed jacket really added some unique flair to their wedding outfits.
A Rainy Ceremony
Rain was on the forecast for this wedding day right around the time of the ceremony. But, the couple and their guests didn’t let that stop them! We moved the timing slightly so that it wasn’t pouring during this portion of the day. The ceremony still took place outside and the raindrops were actually quite romantic for photos. Didn’t Joy + Everette Photography do an incredible job?
Pro tip from a wedding planner: If you are planning a wedding that will be outside at any portion, always rent a tent. Even if you don’t mind some sprinkles, you never know exactly how much it will rain or how items like your flowers will hold up. A tent will help you keep your peace of mind and you will be thankful you rented it if it isn’t completely sunny outside. While this couple didn’t have to use their tent for their ceremony, they did use it for the reception.
Look at the love on their faces! After saying their “I Dos”, the guests celebrated the couple with these streamer poppers. Talk about a Pinterest-worthy moment.
The Party
After snapping some couples photos, it was time to party. The reception kicked off with some delicious spicy margaritas and a meal from Rothchild Catering. Then, the group enjoyed some heartfelt speeches. They even got to video call some loved ones for speeches during this sweet moment!
