Joshua Tree National Park Boho Elopement

Today, you’re in for a treat with this boho Joshua Tree desert elopement! Joshua Tree is one of my all-time favorite U.S Parks but maybe it’s because my husband and I got married in the area. However, I also think the Dr.Seuss-like Yucca trees are just so unique. Lucky for us, our adventurous couples love this National Park just as much as we do and we get to go back often for elopements and ceremonies!

Getting Ready

Amber and Brad rented this cute AirBnB in Joshua Tree just about a 20 minute drive to the Park. They got ready for their desert elopement in separate rooms while their families set up the reception table and a little cocktail area for later. Amber had her hair and makeup done by Jay-Lee of Superstition Makeup whom she met on Reddit which I thought was pretty cool!

The Ceremony

Part of our job as Wedding Planners is to scout a great location for the ceremony. When the ceremony is in a National Park, we need to go there a little earlier and set up. With the help of the officiant, Matt, we found the perfect little intimate spot shielded from the desert wind. We know a thing or to about prepping for an elopement. The details

Even though this wedding only had 10 people, the details were really cute and represented the couple well. For example, their vow book was a vintage Marvel comic book, something both the bride and groom really enjoy. After the ceremony, we popped champagne and guests got to celebrate with the newlyweds before they zoomed away for photos.

The Reception

While the bride and groom ran away into the sunset for gorgeous desert photos, the guests headed back to the AirBnB for cocktails & appetizers. When the bride and groom joined them, everyone sat down for an intimate dinner prepared by a local Chef. This is the point where we sneak away and let the newlyweds and their families enjoy this time together. We’re happy to report that Amber and Brad are living happily every after!
