LGBTQ+ Intimate Wedding at an Airbnb in Joshua Tree | Destination Wedding Planner for Adventure Couples

Kelly and Jackie had the perfect intimate wedding in the heart of Joshua Tree. Together with 25 of their closest friends and family, they said their I Do’s in the high desert and celebrated with dinner and dancing in the backyard of the cutest desert Airbnb wedding venue.

Ceremony in the desert

If you’re going to get married in Joshua Tree, you absolutely need to have your ceremony in the middle of the desert. Whether next to a giant yucca tree that looks like its straight out of Dr. Seuss or surrounded by moon-like rocks, it’s a landscape that will blow your mind.

Kelly and Jackie booked the High Desert Paradise which is an Airbnb that allows weddings and events and is perfect for intimate weddings like this one. They got ready onsite and stepped outside for their walk down the aisle. How cool is this wedding aisle!

Sunset portraits in the desert

When you don’t have a wedding party, you can spend more time doing portraits just the two of you. As planners, we love sticking to a timeline but we especially love when vendors like photographer and videographers can take their time with couples and really have fun with portraits. Kelly and Jackie got to play around in the desert after the ceremony while the guests were snacking on appetizers and sipping cocktails. This gave them a little time to be with each other (and have a shot or two to celebrate) before joining their guests.

Reception at an Airbnb

The beauty of a small wedding is that you can really go all out on design and decor for your reception tables. Kelly and Jackie wanted a boho style design with desert vibes. Our lead planner and designer, Jessica, incorporated cacti in bud vases and dried grasses and flowers for the centerpieces. We also added a macrame backdrop to the cake table and even candles in the pool for a romantic ambiance.

After dinner, the brides and their guests enjoyed speeches, live music and dancing under the stars! It was such a special day with this couple and their close friends and family.
