As you may know, we love a good venue tour! If you missed it, our lead planner, Jessica is now living full time in Maine and running our East Coast branch. As our brand grows, we are working on expanding to the East coast as we feel there’s a ton of opportunity out there and so many great venues. We decided to make our first stop at one of our favorites on the East Coast, The Squire Tarbox Inn.
As you make your way down the country road, you immediately feel like you left the city even though it is a quick 15 minute drive to Wiscasset. You pull up to the 12 acre property on Westport Island and are greeted by a beautiful outdoor setting. This property has 11 rooms onsite that guests, including the bride & groom, can stay in which is steps away from the 1800s barn available for your wedding day.
The property
What makes this property so fun and unique are the options you have to create your very own unique Maine wedding. With it being a full property buyout, you’re able to host your welcome and/or rehearsal dinner inside the Inn where there is a screened in porch attached to a beautiful indoor dining area. On your wedding day you have plenty of options to either have your ceremony near the pond or on the lawn with the forest backdrop. Again, you are left with some great options for cocktail hour and your reception as well. There’s more lawn space at the front, perfect for cocktail hour with reception to follow in the barn and large deck that was recently added on.
Amenities
Being able to stay on property of your wedding is something that we find to be one of the best experiences for you and your guests. All of the guests staying onsite will be able to enjoy a complimentary breakfast in the morning. Each room is beautifully decorated so it may be hard to choose one for yourself. You can see the rooms HERE. We think room four is beautiful but you can’t quite beat the view in room eleven. The Squire Tarbox Inn is hard at work to build an even better guest experience with plans to add in a fire pit & lawn games. Even a new pizza oven is being built as I type this.
