There really is nothing quite like an intimate elopement surrounded by nature. Today we are adventuring to Maine for the most dreamy woodsy elopement. This rustic boho design will surround you with the feeling of crisp autumn air with colorful fall tones and effortlessly romantic details.
Ready to escape to the forest with us? Keep reading to gather inspiration for your elopement vision!
Wedding Arch & Florals
This eco-friendly floral wedding arch seems to emerge from the ground, blending in perfectly with the fall surroundings. The florals were foraged locally in Maine, keeping the theme of the forest consistent. This is such a creative and sustainable way to honor the location of your elopement! The addition of dried textural elements like the seasonal leaves is so unique for this ceremony design.
The bridal bouquet was a continuation of the wedding arch following the colorful fall palette. A mix of warm marigold, burnt orange, deep reds, and blue tones brought pops of color to this elopement. If you are planning an outdoor wedding but want to include more colors, add in plenty of fresh florals to keep things inspired by nature!
Bride & Groom Attire
The bridal look was minimal and ethereal with a flowy floral length gown. For the bride's accessories, she wore dainty and modern jewelry pieces to complete her elopement look. The groom's muted blue suit was so chic, complementing the wedding florals.
The Barn & Lounge Decor
This sweet local barn at Autumn Lane Estate is the perfect Maine elopement location. It is a great spot for photography with a wooden backdrop and modern barn silhouette! Even with intimate elopements, adding a lounge area is a great way to extend your venue space. We added in a matching floral garland, a simple accent bench, and a vintage-inspired rug.
Table Design
How cute is this table design? We selected a two-tone wooden round table and chairs to place our fall decor. The cascading natural floral garland made a stunning centerpiece. We added organic-shaped plates layered between a real seasonal leaf to each place setting. The linen napkins and flatware remained simplistic to allow the place settings to shine.
The Cake
Let's talk about this beautiful cake! The minimal two-layered was decorated with sprigs of pampas grass and a piece of fresh fern with a few more fall florals at the base. We paired the cake with a simple wood cake stand. Of course, we couldn't resist having the bride capture a photo with the sweet treat!
With so many changes in the wedding industry due to COVID-19, we are going to see adjustments in fall trends this year. For those who were on top of their game and published posts at the beginning of the year, I'd be curious to see how they would write about trends now. There will be old trends that will be forced out such as self-serve anything, cheeseboards and over the top wedding decor but that's not to say you can't modify these trends to make them work. COVID-19 is a historical moment and one that is taking the cake this year.
Elopements, Microweddings, intimate weddings... Whatever you want to call them they are going to be the top trend this fall. To be quite honest, I think we were heading in this direction regardless as our elopement package inquiries have been up for the last year! What makes a wedding intimate? We are thinking guest counts will be 40 or less this year.
Okay, this one may be a bit of a stretch but I've seen a lot of discussion on various Facebook groups about bride and grooms not wanting to give up their wedding cakes this year. With new COVID restrictions in place, you're going to have to have a "sneeze guard" to protect that cake from possible germs. My thought? Put that cake in a really cool plexiglass container like this.
We have been put to the test this year and are coming out wanting all the positive memories. I think it's on the top of everyone's list this year to hire a videographer as it will help preserve the memories of being together with friends and family. A video is the perfect way to relive those moments, funny or emotional. The only trend I wish that would go away, "we don't need a big production just a couple of minutes."
As mentioned earlier, there are ways to take past trends and modify them to work in this new environment. Instead of a large grazing board filled with cheese, cured meats and fruits, we can take this idea and make it small. Using small plates, such as this one, you can create mini grazing boards for people to take with them during cocktail hour.
You can officially say good bye to the wedding of your parent's dreams. You've been through the ringer this year planning a wedding so I think all bets are off! It's about high time that you plan the wedding of your dreams. Perhaps an adventurous wedding in the desert like this Boho Joshua Tree Elopement? Or personal festival style wedding? Whatever you choose to do make sure it's something you'll look back on and be glad you did it your way!
If this is what a barn wedding is all about, I'm ready to do many more! When I drove up the long dirt road through these spectacular wheat fields for Kristen and Scott's rehearsal at the Historic Santa Margarita Ranch, I'm pretty sure I shed a few tears of joy. The sun was hitting the golden wheat so perfectly that I knew their wedding photos were going to be incredible. Ready to see this beauty?
Getting Ready on the Ranch
The Historic Santa Margarita Ranch has a beautiful little bridal suite that works great for getting ready and putting finishing touches on hair and makeup.
It seems it doesn't take the guys as long to get ready so they made the most our of their free time before the ceremony started. There's a really cool vintage school bus that has been remodeled inside and it was the perfect hang out spot for the boys!
An Intimate First Look
As we crept closer to the ceremony start time, we brought the bride and groom together for their First Look. Get the tissues because the groom's reaction had everyone in tears!
The Handmade Details
This couple was surrounded by very talented friends and family members. One bridesmaid put together all the florals and another bridesmaid made all of their wooden signage. Pretty amazing! Take a peek at some of the details inside this barn wedding.
The Best Ceremony of all times
I don't think I've laughed and cried like this at a ceremony in a long time. Kristen and Scott wrote their own vows and made them funny, personal and truly representative of each other as a couple. Most of the ceremony photos we have are of people laughing and crying!
Inside the Reception Barn
The reception space was nothing short of spectacular. When the sun peeked through the old wooden doors, we could see the rays of sunshine spill onto the dinner tables. Pretty poetic, eh? See for yourself!
The Cake
The Grand Finale for a lot of weddings is the wedding cake. I've actually noticed that older guests won't leave until after the cake has been cut and they've had a piece to celebrate the newlyweds! Since Kristen and Scott had a small cake for themselves and some family members, the rest of the guests got to enjoy some amazing ice cream from Negranti Ice Cream in the cutest truck ever!
Fall is here! Every year I hope to see the Southern California trees change colors but instead I settle for the somewhat cooler weather and the appearance of all things pumpkin at Trader Joe's. The Fall wedding season is definitely one of my favorites. Guests get to enjoy seasonal menus, darker colors in their decor and get cozy by the fire pits. We're celebrating this lovely fall wedding at the South Coast Botanic Garden on the blog today! P.S the bride designed her own invitations and hand painted all the pretty signs!
Getting ready earlier
Getting ready the morning of your wedding should be anything but stressful. Something to consider if you're having a late fall outdoor wedding (late October or November) is that the sunset will be a lot earlier. That means, you should plan to have your ceremony earlier in the day as well and therefore, you're 'getting ready' time will have to start earlier as well.
Hair & Skin Care Routine
If you're not a morning person, consider washing your hair the night before and lathering lot's of moisturize on before bed. To avoid puffy eyes the morning of your wedding, stay hydrated the night before and go to bed early. I know it's not what you want to hear on your wedding weekend but, trust me, you'll be glad you did.
Breakfast & champagne
Even though you might have butterflies the morning of your wedding, you need to eat something. Have your Maid of Honor be in charge of wedding day brunch and mimosas to take the edge off! Remember, stay hydrated throughout the day too!
Outdoor Ceremony
Like I mentioned earlier, if you're having an outdoor ceremony in the Fall, it's likely that the sunset will be significantly earlier than it would be during the Spring or Summer. Planning tip: The first thing I do when I start creating a wedding timeline for clients is to insert the sunset time. The reason I do this is because I want the "golden light" romantic photos to happen the hour surrounding the sunset. This means, the ceremony should be at least 1 hour or more BEFORE sunset time.
A Garden Reception
After a beautiful wedding with a traditional tea ceremony, modern vows and lot's of happy tears, guests were escorted to the meadow for some sushi, drinks and dancing. Planning Tip: One thing we like to always recommend to our Fall wedding couples is to rent heat lamps! I know it's not a sexy rental item to have on your list but your guests will appreciate you for keeping them warm once the sun sets. If you don't like the look of the metal heat lamps, for a small extra fee you can ask your rental company to wrap them in pretty much any color you want!
Fall Wedding Photos
All in all, I still think Fall weddings are the best. The air is crisper, sure, but the sunsets are spectacular. If you are considering a botanical garden as your wedding venue, I recommend checking out the South Coast Botanic Garden because you'll have 86 acres of incredible greenery and cool plants for your sunset photos.
If you're new to our blog, welcome! We're adventurous wedding planners based in Nashville and Maine who love travel to remote locations to produce events and weddings. Sometimes we do large festival-style weddings in the Utah desert and other times we do intimate winter weddings in Maine.
Fresh snow and a crackling fireplace are the perfect ingredients for the winter season. We thought we would bring this feeling to life through a wedding day! Once again, you are joining us in Maine for another intimate celebration. I can't wait to share this cozy cottage winter wedding at Camp O-At-Ka with you.
Winter Wedding Stationery
One of my favorites parts of this design is the pop of orange tones. With actual dried orange pieces and seasonal florals, this is a wonderful way to add some color to a winter wedding. The modern stationery looked beautiful in detail photography with these elements.
Tip from a wedding planner: want to elevate your invitations? Add in a map of your venue! Especially for more remote or large locations, your vendors and guests will appreciate this. It also makes for a really cool piece of art in your home after the wedding.
Winter Florals
The florals are where the color palette really begins to shine! This lush greenery with bright orange and pinks still has our planning team swooning. There is something so special about the mix of the white snow and natural stone at the venue with these floral designs! The bridal bouquet tied in winter elements with the addition of some dried branches.
Romantic Couple Photos
For a winter wedding in Maine, there is no need to pick between the forest and the beach! This couple posed between the winter trees and then adventured to a snowy beach. How lovely are there outfits? Velvet is a winter wedding trend we think is here to stay. With the bride's vintage inspired gown, this pair was picture ready.
Intimate Reception Table Decor
What's an easy way to add dimension to your wedding design? Don't remain too structured! We love created complimentary tablescapes that aren't exactly the same. We created two intimate tablescapes for this winter wedding in Maine.
Outdoor Tablescape
For this outdoor set up, we allowed the design to be more organic. Simple layered place settings with personalized name cards and and oversized floral garland ended up being just the right amount of decor. With this dreamy linen paired with the outdoor fireplace and forest landscape, this tablescape was complete!
Cozy Fireplace Tablescape
Do you feel like you are in a cozy cottage? The warming fireplace and stone at the indoor space inspired us! A farmhouse table, romantic candles, and elegant place settings created this design. I can't get enough of these gold stamped menus!

I am so excited to share this boho Halloween wedding inspiration with you! Our team in Maine put together this creative-styled shoot. Themed weddings can be so fun! We wanted to show you how to incorporate the spooky season into your big day. If you are planning an October wedding, this one is for you!
Table Design
A Halloween-inspired tablescape doesn't have to be dark and moody. This minimal table design used dried florals, white and gold colors, and minimal place settings. I love the mix-matched chairs. What a simple way to add more dimension to this stunning table!
Stationery
These warm tones are perfect for the fall season. With raw edge stationery pieces, handwritten details, and black wax seals, we can already feel the chill in the air. Get your guests excited for your big day by using your invitations as a sneak peek into your design!
Fall Florals
Of course, we incorporated plenty of fall florals! The dried elements made these floral pieces fit seamlessly into the theme. The warm colors added a bit of romance. For our signature boho theme, every floral element was not too put together. Consider organic and asymmetrical shapes for your wedding flowers if you love these looks!
Wedding Attire & Glam
This bold, long sleeve wedding dress made such a statement! The only accessory needed was a lush bouquet. For hair and makeup, loose waves and a smoky eye balanced the look.
Cake & Bar
This one-tier, blood dripping cake somehow manages to remain incredibly elegant. With some simple dried florals and fresh figs, this cake created the ultimate decor piece. What a work of art! Pro tip from a wedding planner: pose with your wedding cake! Don't be afraid to move your cake around and capture some photos with it before guests enjoy a piece.
Finally, we decorated this mobile bar with more florals, haunted books, and vintage glassware. While grabbing a drink, this bar was also a wonderful backdrop for photos.
Newly engaged? Welcome! We'd love to help create your adventurous wedding but dates are going fast. Inquire with us here so we can put your date on our calendar!
Earlier this year, we took a tour of a brand new Tennessee wedding venue, White Star Station. The industrial details and rich history sparked our creativity! So, we got to work. I (Gabby), teamed up with some of our favorite local vendors to create an intimate wedding vision. We incorporated our favorite boho themes with a bit of edge to balance out the industrial space. With the cooler months approaching, of course, there are some dreamy fall details in there as well! Ready for the best industrial boho elopement inspiration in Tennessee? Let's take a look!
The Couple
We have to take a moment to talk about the a-m-a-z-i-n-g real-life couple, Ali and Erin. They got engaged almost a year ago and we were so excited for them to model this styled shoot. This was a great way to offer a glimpse into what their wedding day might be like. They even got to try on dresses for the first time! Engaged couples, participating in styled photoshoots can be a fun and romantic way to celebrate being future newlyweds. You will have extra photos in wedding attire to look back on and may even find out more about your design likes and dislikes.
Invitation Suite
For the invitations, MEB Calligraphy created a modern neutral suite with subtle patterned details. For some more personalization and a pop of color, we added some artistic stamps. Look how stunning the flat lay photography turned out!
Wedding Attire
Aren't these gowns from White Lace and Promises meant for each other? We how seamless they are together for photos while remaining truly unique on their own. The future brides wore some cool boots with their dresses! To complete the looks, they accessorized with a dramatic full-length veil and lush bouquets. The natural glam beauty by Bangs and Blush polished the elopement looks!
Ceremony Details
Onto the ceremony details. An incredible floral piece by Thistle and Lace Florals stood as the focal point. We added a vintage rug and the design was complete. There isn't a need for complex decor with the chandeliers, natural light, and industrial brick walls at this venue!
Table Decor
As wedding planners, table decor always is one of our favorite design aspects. Here is where the vision for the day comes together through the details. First, we added a sage green runner and fall floral centerpiece. Romantic candles mix-matched bud vases filled the tablescape. For the place settings from Please Be Seated, it was all about the texture and layers. The final touch? Tassel name cards!
Reception Details
The Cake
Don't be afraid to try out some unexpected tones in your color palette! For this boho elopement vision, earthy and muted colors were at the forefront. However, to help lighten everything up and add some more romance, blush tones paired perfectly! This modern cake by All Mixed Up Cakes in the different pink colors was almost too pretty to eat. With the gold hoop arch from Blue Fish Event Rentals and some pampas grass, this made an excellent display!
Bar
This custom gold round bar comes with your wedding venue rental at White Star Station! With the addition of a vibrant neon sign from Knoxville Neon and the ceremony florals from earlier in the day, this was one of our favorite aspects from this elopement photoshoot.
Couple's Photos
To complete the day, Ali and Erin adventured outside of the venue with lovely photographer, Leah Bullard. The Downtown Maryville location is so charming. Right outside of the venue, there is even a butterfly mural for some unique photos!
We hope you are inspired by this industrial boho elopement! For even more intimate wedding ideas, check out this woodland fall elopement in Maine next.

If you were following our blog recently, you saw that we hosted a Halloween Tablescape contest that featured over 20 amazing designs from some of our Instagram friends.
Well on today's blog, I wanted to zoom in on our design so you can take a look at all the fun details. I called this design my Werewolf Themed Tablescape because of that faux fur runner in the middle!
Special thank you to Darcy Ferris for coming over and getting photos of my tablescape! She's a talented photographer here in Nashville. She does everything from weddings to family sessions and now interior design photography haha.
List of Supplies
I'm not going to lie I started decorating in August this year woops. I happened to already own a few of the items you see in the images. I want to give you a proper list of what I bought so you can recreate this at home. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
6 Charger Plates. I got mine at Kirkland's on sale for $3 each.
Dinner plates & salad plates. I used the ones I had at home. You'll notice that I snuck some white ones in there because I didn't have enough black ones!
Napkins. I bought these at Kirkland's. Set of 4 for $16.
Bell Jars. I ordered these on Amazon because I knew I could reuse them for something else later! I ordered the 9.8" and the 5.9".
Black candle sticks. I had these already but I know you can get some on Amazon as well.
Skull glasses. I found these at my local Dollar General but the quality isn't great. I found these way cooler ones on Amazon!
Cobwebs for the chandelier were from Amazon. I used them on my outdoor bushes too. You don't need a lot!
Bats for the wall. Another great Amazon find. They come with little double sided sticky things and I plan to reuse them next year too.
Science beakers. I used these to put my flowers in and I thought it looked really fun! Here are the ones I ordered.
What did you think of my Halloween decorations this year? It's so fun now that we own our own home because we can continue to add to our collection. We'll get spookier and spookier every year!

A beautiful and colorful tablescape inspired by Priscilla's Mexican culture. She mixed color and spookiness for a really fun Halloween design! Some of those butterflies truly look like they are flying, don't they?
Halloween doesn't have to be about orange and black. Ginny decorated her Halloween tablescape with a beautiful pink color palette. I love the red candles as they bring a cozy but slightly spooky atmosphere to the dinner table.
I would love to be a guest at this Halloween dinner party, wouldn't you? A nice white neutral color palette makes for a classy table design look. If you look closely you can see a skeleton hand making it's way to your dinner plate!
Bohemian Witchy Halloween Table Design by @Bohofrisco
I wish all witches were this cool! With cauldrons turned into flower pots, this witch knows how to host a great Halloween dinner. Now, who's to say what kind of potion is in those martini glasses though.
A werewolf-inspired halloween dinner party for 6! I hope there's no red meat on the menu though. Light the candles, dim the lights and enjoy this halloween feast tonight!
Whimsical creatures and fairies of all sorts should be decorating their Halloween table like this! But what's that under the bell jar? Our first course are eyeballs!!
Could this be a table from a ghost ship? If so, sign me up for dinner with the ghouls! Do you think those scorpions come as the first course or are they for you to eat as an appetizer? Enjoy!
Trick or treat? You don't get to decide. Have a seat and you'll find out! That cobweb isn't just here for fun. There's an 8-legged lady who likes to visit her dinner guests from time to time. Beware!
You best dress up for this spooky dinner set up! As you dine, don't be surprised if you feel like someone is watching you. Remember, the crows have eyes MUAHAHAHA!
Does this not remind you of Hocus Pocus for some reason? “I suggest we form a calming circle.” Gather around this table and let's chat about the latest poisons and potions, shall we?
Who says you have to go dark and moody on Halloween? This minimalistic tablescape with crisp white mix-matched seating is a breath of fresh air. Gold detail, candlesticks, and delicate dried florals are a dreamy way to celebrate the season!
Crushed velvet and dried florals, oh my! This design turns back time with vintage place settings and a centerpiece that seems to grow out of the table itself. Can you spot all of the skeleton creatures hidden within?
I dare you to take a bite of that shiny apple. Only one of these is poisoned, so WITCH one do you think it is? This design is so fun for both a Fall and Halloween tablescape don't you think?

Bringing Day of the Dead inspiration to the desert! Fellow adventurers will be ready to celebrate at this table. From colorful florals to sugar skulls, each element within this design draws from the traditional Mexican holiday.

Apothecary Witchy Floral Table Design by @Letaverbena
Pick your poison! If I were a witch, this is what my home would look like for sure. Covered in dried flowers and candles all around the house. Can you picture yourself here? Perhaps if you'll stay a while we can do a little magic trick on you. Don't worry it'll only hurt a little.
How about we go on a nice little picnic....at the local GRAVEYARD! I feel like someone is watching us eat. How this team got the candle sticks to look like that is beyond me but I am digging it (no pun intended)!
Halloween doesn't mean dark and moody. This team brought it to the year 2020 with pops of millennial pink and some trendy ceramic plates. This tablescape is the hippest one with its glass skulls and knotted napkins!
